Art epoch
Victorian era

George Edward Lodge was an outstanding British illustrator and naturalist, best known for his exquisite depictions of birds. Born in Lincolnshire, England in 1860, Lodge developed a passion for nature and art from an early age. His works are characterized by a remarkable attention to detail and a deep understanding of the animals' anatomy and behavior. The artwork "Flamingo" shows the graceful elegance of these fascinating birds, captured in a masterful composition that emphasizes both the vibrant colors and the characteristic posture of the flamingos. Lodge's ability to capture the essence of his subjects made him one of the most sought-after illustrators of his time.

Interesting fact: George Edward Lodge was not only a talented artist, but also an avid hunter and conservationist. He was known for often doing his illustrations in the wild to achieve the most authentic depictions. Lodge was also a close friend of Richard Bowdler Sharpe, one of the leading ornithologists of the 19th century, and collaborated with him on several major ornithological publications. A lesser-known detail is that Lodge was also a talented engraver and printed many of his works himself to ensure the highest quality.

Print quality & material

We believe that art has the power to inspire the mind, tell stories and transform spaces.

That's why we put our hearts into every step of the printing process to ensure that every work we produce meets the highest artistic standards.

printing process

Our fine art giclée printers use 12 different ink tanks and produce museum-quality art prints. Thanks to specially pigmented inks, significantly more color nuances can be displayed than with conventional printing processes and other providers.

Print medium

We use extra-heavy (400g/m2) premium canvas made from 100% cotton. The high grammage and texture of the canvas ensures a particularly high-quality and almost three-dimensional appearance.

Environmentally friendly

We only use original and high-quality pigment ink which contains real pigment particles. This is UV-resistant, solvent-free, vegan and environmentally friendly.

UV & moisture resistant

Thanks to the UV resistance of our pigment inks, the prints do not fade or discolor and retain their color brilliance for up to 100 years.
