Hermann David Salomon Corrodi was born on July 1, 1844 in Zurich, Switzerland. He was an important 19th-century painter, best known for his landscape paintings and oriental scenes. Corrodi came from a family of artists; his father, Salomon Corrodi, was also a respected painter. This artistic environment shaped his early development and eventually led him to the prestigious Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome, where he received his formal education.
Corrodi spent much of his life in Italy, particularly in Rome, where he devoted himself to painting landscapes and historical scenes.
